Once Again ………Greetings One and All,

I hope you have been able to enjoy the smashing weather , as the song says “Where does the time go?”

As a bit of an archive feature, two photos from the past , one showing the 2300cc engine production line in the late 1960s at LUTON and a shot one could never attempt today of the iconic Cooling Towers at Tinsley near Sheffield a well known feature of the M1.

I’m afraid tooling costs have defeated my attempt to get BEDFORD CA pedal rubbers remade, so I will try to find an alternative source, but better news on the “Hotspot” gasket for BEDFORD CAs (goes between the inlet and exhaust manifolds)

I managed to get a “tool” made to give a clean outline and use a more modern material, £9.90 + post .

For recycling is a BEDFORD CF 2.3 Diesil with a 5 Speed ZF gearbox, an excellent runner (these are not so common these days)

A handy find were several late Lucas indicator stalks for the left side of the steering column, will do for the CF2 as well.

Easter saw the retirement of the Gentleman who expertly repaired our gearboxes, “Many thanks to Roger “ and a well earned rest after 28 years of standing up at a workbench! with his hands in dirty oil, we hope to continue doing them but patience will be required as they will have to be fitted in.

April saw another of our 23000cc reconditioned engines find a new home, a joint effort with W Drakes of Bradford  details on request as ever.

I can’t believe its two years since our involvement in supplying a similar unit to the Bedford ice-cream van used by Lloyds Bank as part of the round Britain Olympic Torch, this year will see Yorkshire featuring in the Great Cycle event in July.

As ever, I welcome any feedback and comments as to how I can improve my service to you, the valued customer!

Best wishes

Adrian
